Don't get me wrong, I'm not iPhone bashing as no other phone has come close in my opinion but the new update was just a bit mmmh.

It has kind of made me lose interest in upgrading to the iPhone 3GS though which is probably a good thing considering the price.

I think copy and paste should have been there from at least v2 of the OS, but the other stuff I think is a great addition and just proves that Apple is continuing to innovate in all the right areas for the iPhone.

Worth the wait? Yes.

Underwhelming? Also yes.

Worth the wait because it brought a lot of useful features that will make most of the day-to-day tasks I carry out on my iPhone a lot easier.

Underwhelming because the majority of these features should have already been there. Also, the spotlight search seems to search the email bin too, and given I receive a lot of notification emails during the day which I delete after reading, it can make filtering down the search results hard. Safari doesn't seem to save htaccess based user/passes either.

The phone generally feels a bit tighter though and Safari definitely seems quicker. Looking forward to seeing what app developers do with 3.0, but this update just seems to have made me want a 3GS more now after seeing glimpses of the potential there (the compass and video camera are really tempting too).
