More than half of Britons would never leave the house without their mobile phones on them, new research has revealed.
The study from BM Savings found that 44 per cent of mobile phone owners claim they would be unable to live without their devices.
Over a quarter (26 per cent) of respondents to the financial services provider’s survey admitted they would be worried about missing calls.
Women were more likely to be attached to their mobiles, with 47 per cent claiming they couldn’t live without them – compared to 41 per cent of men who felt this way.
John Bianco, head of Birmingham Midshires Savings Products, said: “It’s clear that most of us enjoy talking on the phone and find it useful for getting day to day jobs done quickly and efficiently.”
The BM Savings report also found that texting is a key element of owning a mobile, with 88 per cent of mobile users between the age of 18 and 24 years spending as much as one hour on the phone everyday.
Each day, on average, 78 per cent of people in the UK spend up to half an hour on their devices.
Mr Bianco commented: “Many people mistakenly think that the best savings deals can only be found online.
