Details of the Sony Ericsson Jalou were announced this week and according to the manufacturer the device combines the latest in modern mobile features with stylish good looks.
In fact, it was advised that the new model could be the ideal solution for those looking for a new phone that provides “chic communication” – which it illustrated by noting the inclusion of a Mirror Key to “check your hair before a hot date”.
The Jalou is equipped with a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording, HSDPA GSM and Bluetooth connectivity, an integrated stereo FM radio and a media player that boasts Bluetooth A2DP support.
Easy access has been included to a host of other facilities including Google’s instant messaging, email and mapping pages. At 73 mm in length, Sony added it is “shorter than your favourite lipstick” and as such, can be slipped easily into a purse, handbag or pocket.
Available in three colour choices – Onyx Black, Aquamarine Blue and Deep Amethyst – head designer of the Jalou Charles Hunt commented that his team “wanted the handset to reflect beauty found in nature”.
“They looked at structure, strength and form in various crystalline jewels, which resulted in the unique shape,” he added.
Sony Ericsson also unveiled plans for a limited edition designer version of the Jalou that would be branded with the Dolce & Gabbana name and would come with a special colouring, exclusive packaging and three rose satin bags.
This particular incarnation of the device will also be pre-loaded with exclusive photos and video clips from the Italian fashion house’s 2010 Autumn/Winter runway show.
