The Google Nexus One will be available to British Vodafone customers as of Friday (April 30th), the network has announced.
Well, it’s certainly taken a while but the fact is, mobile lovers, the handset is finally here.
The gadget has been garnering some serious hype over the last few weeks … wait … months, with favourable review upon favourable review whetting our appetites for Google’s first stab at a mobile phone.
For example, TechRadar referred to the model as the “best Android phone available” adding: “The Nexus One is actually a stellar smartphone, easily the match of its peers.”
In addition, writing for the Daily Telegraph, Matt Warman explained the device is the first to offer “a meaningful challenge” to Apple’s iPhone.
According to Vodafone – the first European mobile operator to offer it – the handset will be available on 18 and 24-month contracts and people who pre-order online will be able to get the phone for free on a £35 per month, 24-month price plan.
“Vodafone UK customers with the Nexus One can use up to 1GB of mobile data as part of their price plan as well as take advantage of unlimited access to Wi-Fi in the home and free, publicly available services throughout the country,” the company added.
Will you be opting for the Google Nexus One?
Or do you think it will be unable to rival the Apple iPhone?
I personally can’t wait to see what it has to offer and whether it can shake up the smartphone market like so many people believe it can.
