How to claim your FREE iPhone 4 case

Since the press conference was called in the aftermath of ‘antennagate’.  Apple has announced that all iPhone 4 customers should be able to get a free case to cure any antenna based woes.  It’s a pretty simple and painless procedure so we would suggest that you get cracking as there is a time limit on this free goodness.

The pesky time limits are like this: For iPhone 4 purchases made on or before July 23, 2010, you must apply no later than August 22, 2010.  Otherwise you have to apply within 30 days of your iPhone purchase.  And to qualify for the program overall you must have purchased an iPhone 4 by Spetember 30, 2010.

To qualify for a free case you simply have to follow the steps outlined below.  First you must download the ‘iPhone 4 case program app’ from the Apple app store.  Then you have to launch the app on your iPhone 4 and sign in using your iTunes store account.  Then you breeze through the various cases on offer.  The Apple bumper case will get to you within a few weeks but some of the cases on offer may take 2-3 months to get to you.

So there you have it, everyone wins.  Apple managed to avoid a very public and expensive recall and iPhone 4 owners get a free shiny new case.  Just remember to apply for your case as soon as you can.
