HTC HD2 arrives on O2 todayToday sees the launch of a new mobile phone that offers a wide selection of features accessible through a touch-sensitive screen which is one of the biggest on the market.

Adding to models in its range that currently include the Apple iPhone 3G and the Palm Pre, this week sees O2 bring the HTC HD2 smartphone to its network – and the carrier has taken the opportunity to highlight some of the device’s more attractive facilities.

In addition to boasting a five-megapixel camera, the gadget is praised for incorporating its manufacturer’s Sense user interface, making navigating the menu screens on its "massive" 4.3-inch screen even easier and more enjoyable.

From today, O2 customers will be able to get hold of the HD2 on its Pay Monthly tariff, which the company said will allow them to take in all of the aforementioned options as well as high speed processing power that runs alongside the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.

Steve Alder, general manager of devices for O2 in the UK, said: "We are proud to be the home of smartphones and the HTC HD2 adds a new dimension to the range of devices we offer to our customers."

In addition, HTC’s executive director for the Britain and Ireland Jon French explained that the Sense interface was the result of a close partnership with Microsoft that will allow people an experience which is "simple, natural and personal".

The HD2 is equipped with a 1 Ghz processor and MicroSD card support, a 3.5mm audio socket, an FM radio, as well as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity.
