A new phone that was recently announced as the latest addition to Orange’s range of business-focussed smartphones has been reviewed in an article for Cnet this week.
The network added the HTC Touch Pro2 to its line of products in early July and the technology website’s Frank Lewis has commented on how at first it may look large, but it is ultimately a device worth consideration.
He explained the size of the phone is something which cannot be ignored but added with these dimensions comes a more functional selection of features that in some cases are able to do the job of a laptop.
Mr Lewis added one of these was the big front panel of the HTC Touch Pro2, which houses a 480 x 800 pixel, touch-enabled display that is not only “a beauty to behold” but also offers “incredibly crisp and sharp” images.
The reverse of the phone carries a plastic battery holder that was less impressive to the reviewer, but the inclusion of a chrome Apple iPhone 3G-like bezel was something that gave the device a little more style.
He concluded: “If you can live with its chunky dimensions […] you’ll be rewarded with a large, high-resolution touchscreen and spacious keyboard that mean you can reply to long emails or edit work documents without having to fire up a laptop.”
The device is also equipped with HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS, as well as a 528 Mhz Qualcomm processor and support for microSD cards.
