INQ has announced the launch of two new phones it has claimed could be the ideal choice for people who like to use social networking websites and the Twitter micro blogging portal.
Available later this year, the INQ Chat 3G is highlighted as a simple-to-use device that combines the functionality of a full qwerty keyboard with easy access to Facebook and Skype.
Consumers who like to use instant messaging and other facilities were noted as people who may like to consider the model, while 3G connectivity and synchronisation to Apple’s iTunes player means the gadget is also well-equipped with a host of multimedia options.
Another feature INQ said would appeal to users is affordability, as it does not come with the “hefty price tag” that many operators may charge for some of the latest high-specification smartphones.
However, the manufacturer added that for those on a particularly strict budget, it would also release the INQ Mini 3G – a handset that boasts the same social networking connectivity but with a traditional non-qwerty keypad.
Frank Meehan, the company’s chief executive officer, said the group had focused on creating a range of mobile phones that address the requirements of the modern consumer, while keeping the end result at a reasonable price.
“We have completely broken the vice grip hold that high-end smartphones had on great mobile internet experiences and made them available to everybody,” he added.
The models follow the INQ1, a Skype-enabled phone which is currently available on 3 Mobile.
