INQ Mini 3G 'ideal for networking teens'A new handset from a company closely associated with the 3 Mobile network in the UK has been singled out as a solid option for those looking to buy a device for their children.

In an article for the Trusted Reviews website this week, Edward Chester takes a look at the follow up to the INQ1, which goes by the name of the Mini 3G and boasts a selection of communication facilities.

The article highlights the fact that the mobile is clearly targeting the entry-level market and is priced to reflect this, but for those who want to equip their offspring with a way to keep in touch while out and about it could be perfect.

In addition, the social networking facilities of the INQ Mini 3G are also praised, with apps for Facebook, Twitter and Windows Live Messenger all available and Skype calling an option for free voice calls.

The device is free on 3 Mobile contracts of £15 per month, but can also be picked up for around £59.99 on pay-as-you-go.

Mr Chester notes that a low-quality camera and a limited web browsing experience will mean the INQ Mini 3G is not going to be everyone’s liking, but may be ideal for some with specific communicative needs.

"If you … just want to make sure you’re never out of the social loop then you should definitely consider this phone. Especially if buying for teenage sons and daughters," he concluded.

The INQ Mini 3G was announced by 3 Mobile earlier this month and was described by the network’s director of products and services Charlotte Blanchard as one of a new range that made mobile web surfing "affordable and easy to use".
