Those of you that own iPhone 3G handsets may have feverishly upgraded your iPhone 3G to run the brand spanking new and much hyped OS4. They may have assumed that OS4 may have turned their aging handsets into the phone equivalent of super fast sprinter Usain Bolt. Instead the upgrade made their iPhone 3G’s about as fast as a mentally deficient goose on stilts. OS 4 also makes the iPhone 3G incredibly slow. And we are talking dial up internet slow.
Although this issue has been somewhat overshadowed by the whole ‘antennagate’ saga, various forums are aflame with angry iPhone 3G owners who are reporting a whole ton of problems with the new operating system. But rest assured that Apple, the Cupertino behemoth, are aware of the problem and told the Wall Street Journal’s Digits blog that they are looking into the matter.
In PR terms Apple seems to be treading into dog mess after dog mess but knowing them they’ll still come up smelling of roses in the end. In the mean time we would advise all iPhone 3G owners to avoid upgrading their phone to the OS 4 system until Apple sorted the problem or have come up with some way of rolling back the upgrade without losing all of your data. So we guess it’s time for Mr Jobs to descend from his cyber cloud and get his hands dirty.
