The latest review for the Nokia Classic 6303 has echoed the comments of a number of experts that have considered the device in recent weeks, stating it is much more impressive than the price tag would suggest.
According to Pocket-lint, the Finnish manufacturer has put together a handset that is tailored to the requirements of those who do not need the many whistles and bells that feature on a lot of modern smartphones.
Instead, Chris Hall wrote that the 6303 succeeds in leaving out the items that this particular demographic might see as “unnecessary, impractical or simply unwanted” and focuses on building a solid model with a robust feature set.
He noted this is a familiar trait of the Nokia Classic range, but added the phone in question takes this one step further by being “exceptionally well designed and built”, while feeling as if it could potentially have a long lifespan.
“Build quality is important in this sort of device, because it means you can buy the phone outright and opt for a sim-only tariff to cut costs. The Nokia 6303 Classic feels as though it will last you for many years, which is exactly what you want in this scenario,” Mr Hall explained.
With a price tag when purchased in this manner, the reviewer suggested some may expect the compact candybar-style device to be lacking in areas, but listed a 2.2-inch screen boasting a 320 x 240 pixel display as just one interesting facility.
The Nokia 6303 Classic also comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera and LED flash, Ovi and Flickr access, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm headphone socket – meaning those with multimedia in mind are still well catered for.
He concluded by saying the phone “might just fit the bill” for those who rely on their mobile for simply texting, voice calling and taking the occasional picture.
Cnet’s Flora Graham and Electricpig’s Joe Minihane recently praised the low-cost Nokia 6303 Classic, with the former admitting it gave her a “a tingle of excitement”.
