A new review has looked at the Nokia E52 and suggested the business-focused handset could be a solid purchase for those looking for smartphone technology in a reliable, simple package.
In an article for Mobile Burn this week, Russell Jeffries looked at the new device from the Finnish manufacturer and highlighted some of the technical aspects that may make it a hit with professional users.
He explained that although there were a few notable absences, such as a camera that lacks an autofocus feature and an email wizard that could be "potentially frustrating", overall, the gadget was able to tick a number of boxes.
Among the specifications of the Nokia E52 that impressed the reviewer were a numeric keypad that is "very easy to type with", active noise reduction technology that enhances call quality, a speakerphone that is "pretty decent" and a 3.2-megapixel camera which was met with equal praise.
Web browsing was noted as a fast and pleasant experience thanks to a range of connectivity options that include Wi-Fi and 3G, with an onboard processing unit that operates at 600 MHz.
"This makes the trusty S60 browser feel more alive and less clunky than before and makes browsing more enjoyable," Mr Jeffries explained.
He went on to say the 2.4-inch screen was a little smaller than he would have liked and the headphones included with the device "feel quite cheap". However, with a standard 3.5mm jack, this should not be a problem for those looking to replace with a more dedicated set of earbuds.
"If you’re after a no-frills business handset that is just as capable of firing out emails as it is playing music or surfing the web on your way home, then the E52 is definitely worth a look," the article concluded.
Nokia was unveiled at the top of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index earlier this week.
