The new Nokia E72 – which was launched in the UK last month – has just hit the US market and is set to provide some festive cheer for those who buy it this Christmas.
According to the Finnish mobile phone firm, the product will be ideal for those who are taking time off from work over the festive season but who do not want to log off entirely from the office.
Since being launched, customers on both sides of the Atlantic have been able to take advantage of the multiple email accounts and separate home screen profiles – for work and personal time – provided by the Nokia E72 smartphone.
The E72 allows you to access work emails using either Mail for Exchange or IBM Lotus Notes Traveller.
Other features of the product include the option to mobilise up to ten personal email accounts and its capacity to have instant messaging set up directly on the home screen.
Judging by a statement on Nokia’s website, the release of such a work-life balanced handset comes just in the nick of time!
A recent US survey, which was commissioned by Nokia and conducted by Opinion Research Corporation, found that 68 per cent of Americans plan to respond to work emails while enjoying time away from their company or organisation over Christmas.
Meanwhile, one in five of respondents aged between 18 and 24 years old admitted to fearing they may lose their job if they did not respond to work emails “in a timely manner”.
Craig Coffey, vice-president of marketing at Nokia, said: “This year, time off doesn’t necessarily mean logging off for most of us over the holidays.”
