One mobile phone expert has noted how a number of devices from a specific manufacturer have impressed him over the years – and has listed three of these that have stood out as classics.
In an article for Nokia Conversations, site contributor Phil explained that Finnish firm continues to put out models that get better and better, but for each one that seems like it might be the best, there are a few which still manage to remain in the memory.
The Nokia 9210i Communicator is one such handset from 2003, which the writer said was given to him as a phone for work in spring of that year. He noted that while some complained about the large dimensions of the gadget, the big colour screen, full qwerty keyboard and "brick-like structure" were among the things that converted him from a simple enthusiast to a "mobile geek".
With this in mind, a similar love affair began some years later when the site contributor received a Nokia E70. The "oddly-sized" screen was praised for offering a 352 x 416 pixel resolution display and highlighted as one of the most impressive the expert had ever seen.
However, those in the market for a newer model may be more interested to hear about Phil’s final choice – the Nokia N95 8GB – which is currently still available on a host of pay monthly tariffs from the likes of Orange and Vodafone.
"The lack of a qwerty keyboard didn’t stop me loving this device and the five-megapixel camera gave me photos I could be proud of," the writer said. "The N95 8GB was the first convergence-style device I got truly excited about. Who didn’t love this thing?"
