Nokia X6V and 5230V to come with V Festival appMusic lovers who are planning on heading to festivals this summer may be in for a treat after it was revealed Virgin Media and Nokia have teamed up to launch new editions of the X6 and 5230 handsets.

According to Virgin Media, the special versions of the gadgets – to be released in July – will come with a pre-loaded V Festival app to help people stay up-to-date with all of the latest information while at the event.

In addition, they will include free sat nav with Ovi Maps, V Festival wallpaper and the Shazam music identification programme to assist people who have heard a song and want to know who it’s by.

What’s more, the 5230V will have a custom V Festival red back cover and ten free music tracks that can be downloaded via the Nokia Music Store, while the X6V will contain a five-megapixel camera and a music player.

Commenting on the news, Jonathan Kini, director of mobile at Virgin Media, said: “We’re really excited to be partnering with Nokia to offer our customers the complete festival package this summer.

“The special ‘V’ edition handsets launching in July will be the perfect partner for revellers and the new V Festival app will transform their weekend, with the latest festival info available at the touch of a button.”

V Festival is set to take place at Hylands Park and Weston Park onAugust 21st and 22nd, with acts such as Kasabian, Paul Weller and Kings of Leon set to appear.

Virgin Media is headline sponsor of the event.
