The Nokia N97 is a handset that provides the user with a great touch-sensitive experience and features a large, clear screen on which to support it, a new review has found.

Ricky Cadden of Mobile Burn was one of the latest writers to take a look at the Finnish manufacturer’s new flagship multimedia smartphone – and highlighted a number of positives about the device.

In addition to a five-megapixel camera that comes with autofocus technology that does “a great job of capturing the moment”, his article explained users should be impressed with the functionality of the N97.

The screen, which measures 3.5 inches and has a 360 x 640 pixel resolution was praised for being “much more sensitive than most resistive screens, resulting in an incredibly pleasant touch experience”.

Build quality was another area where the gadget scored high. However, Mr Cadden did note some faults with the mobile, including a slowing down of the operating system when multiple applications are in use.

Nokia launched the N97 and N86 on the same day as one of their biggest rivals hit the market – the Apple iPhone 3G.

For those looking for a more music-focussed phone, 3 Mobile announced a new deal today for the Sony Ericsson W995 Walkman model.

The network will offer exclusive free access to Sky Mobile TV for three months – a service that would usually cost £5 per month on a subscription basis.

“Sports fans can watch ball-by-ball coverage of major sports events live, as well as all forthcoming coverage on Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and Xtra – and Sky Sports News,” it explained.
