Samsung i8910HD gets Best Multimedia Phone award

The Samsung i8910HD has been awarded the Best Multimedia Phone accolade at the Mobile Choice Consumer Awards.

When it comes to providing an array of features, the mobile was seen as the obvious choice thanks to the fact it was the first device able to record high definition videos, according to the group.

Furthermore, its 3.7-inch "super bright, super clear" Amoled display was considered at the manufacturer’s best touch-screen to date, which makes it ideal for surfing the web and viewing media.

Its 8.1-megapixel camera, Dolby Mobile surround sound and 3.5 mm audio jack for "fantastic audio", also made the device stand out from the crowd, beating the Sony Ericsson Satio and the LG New Chocolate BL 40 to the top spot.

However, the latter did not go home empty handed, as it was named the Most Stylish Phone and described as "as much of a fashion statement as the latest handbag or trendy haircut". It was up against the HTC Touch Diamond2, the Apple iPhone 3GS and Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte.

In terms of social networking, the INQ1 was seen as the best in its class, with integrated Facebook, Skype and Windows Live Messenger.

Meanwhile, the Apple iPhone 3GS was voted Readers’ Dream Phone, which was no surprise, according to Mobile Choice, thanks to its iconic touch-screen, camera and applications among its other features.

The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic was recently tipped as an affordable iPhone alternative by Cnet, which highlighted its touch-screen and music credentials, including an integrated media player, in addition to its 3.2-megapixel camera.
