Samsung JetThe Samsung Jet S8000 has been described as a mobile phone that is well equipped enough to give a number of its rivals a run for their money – even those made by the same manufacturer.

According to a piece posted on the Trusted Reviews website by Sandra Vogel, the device is one of the latest models in the company’s range and is fitted with plenty of top-notch multimedia features.

In addition to its “super, bright, AMOLED screen”, attention is paid to the integrated media player of the device and the level of compatibility it has with a whole host of audio and video files.

For fans of the latter, 30 fps playback is supported, as is the ability to view mpeg4, wmv, DivX and XviD files. When it comes to the former, Ms Vogel says the handset is no slouch either, as it can handle mp3, aac, aac+, wma and wmv formats.

“There is also a competent set of headphones in the box. They are two-piece with a 3.5mm connector behind the microphone. And, joy of joys, there’s a 3.5mm jack on the handset itself,” she adds. “A simple ten out of ten there Samsung.”

Sitting somewhere between other recently-launched models like the Tocco Lite and the eight-megapixel i8910, the expert concluded the Jet is likely to impress those in the market for a new gadget.

“If you are considering [the] Tocco Lite, glance here for an alternative and better option,” she said.

The Samsung Jet was announced by the South Korean manufacturer last month.
