Consumers will get the chance to bring the movies to their Samsung Monte smartphone as a result of a new promotion, the brand has announced.
According to Samsung, it’s teamed up with Marvel Studios and Paramount Digital Entertainment to let mobile users watch the original Iron Man film on their handsets when the Monte is released on May 1st, exclusively on O2.
The offer coincides with the release of the movie’s sequel, Iron Man 2, which is out from today (April 30th) in cinemas across the country.
It features stars such as Mickey Rourke, Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Scarlett Johansson and is described as a sci-fi thriller.
I personally like watching short videos or TV programmes on my smartphone, but have never tackled a film – I’m not quite sure what it would be like and would be concerned it loses its magic due to being on such small screen.
However, Julie Wright, executive director of mobile and digital at Paramount Digital Entertainment, thinks otherwise.
“Movies are a great way to showcase the cinematic qualities of the mobile phone and help to transform the device into a true entertainment centre. This collaboration with Samsung offers consumers an exciting movie viewing experience on the small screen,” she said.
Anne-Sophie Frenove, senior channel marketing manager at Samsung Mobile, added: “We are delighted to be the official UK mobile partner of Iron Man 2. Samsung is renowned for amazing screen quality and also for our rich mobile movies offering, so this collaboration is a perfect fit.”
