An article has looked at how Samsung has been able to combine the functionality of a mobile phone with some of the latest photography features in one of its new models.
Tanya Hall said in a recent post for Gaj-it the South Korean firm has produced a handset that has “really broken through the semi-decent convergent technology mould” in the form of the Pixon 12.
Following on from the eight-megapixel snapper that hit stores last year, the upgraded version adds on an extra four megapixels to its sensor count and this is not the only place where improvements have been made.
With 150 MB of on-board storage expandable to 16 GB with a MicroSD card, there is plenty of space for keeping images, music, video and other documents – and the piece pointed out that support for a wide range of formats and a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen make this all the better.
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity as well as a PowerPoint and PDF viewer make the gadget a possible choice for business user, but Ms Hall added it was clear the model’s status as a cameraphone was clearly one of its biggest selling points.
“All in all, Samsung has really come up with the goods in this handset, which is not only packed full of features, but comes with a bit of quality gravitas,” she said.
In terms of design, the Pixon 12 was awarded a score of eight out of ten and this was the same when it came to usability, while features were given nine out of ten.
