The Sony Ericsson C903 is a mobile phone that features a wide selection of multimedia options that may be of interest those looking at replacing their old model, it has been suggested.

In an article for the Mirror, the device is put under the microscope in a series of tests looking at its credentials as an entertainment gadget, which also happens to house some impressive photography facilities.

The piece states this particular trait can be quite confusing, as at first glance the unit looks like a traditional digital camera and it is only when you take a closer look that the C903 reveals itself as a multi-functional mobile phone.

Some of the big draws highlighted are the five-megapixel sensor, face detection technology, Best Pic system and Smile Shutter feature.

However, it is noted the stylish good looks and musical options available on the Sony Ericsson W995 could tempt users away from this particular device and that overall the C903 is very similar to other models in the Cyber-shot range.

Trusted Reviews’ Sandra Vogel recently took a look at the device and noted that although there were some issues with build quality and the positioning of the headphone socket the handset delivered in a number of key areas.

In addition, it was noted cameraphone users really have no need for the eight-megapixel sensors that many new releases are now equipped with – and in general the C903 can be relied upon for “a good snap”.

“The phone itself feels a bit plasticky in build terms, but the features list is good. It is a pity about the headphones debacle,” she concluded.
