The announcement of the Sony Ericsson T715 has been heralded as the arrival of an “ultra-compact slider” that may interest shoppers looking for a messaging-focused device.
According to the manufacturer, the inclusion of a screen that is easy to read even in direct sunlight combines well with the various other functions it has equipped the model with.
In addition to the display, which measures 2.2 inches, Sony Ericsson explained the large keypad and font size of the T715 make it ideal for text messaging, web browsing and email management.
The 3G connectivity of the handset can also be used to gain fast access to Google Maps – and it was noted that with easy connection to AccuWeather.com there should be no excuse for getting stuck out in the rain without an umbrella.
Quentin Cordier, marketing business manager at the firm, said the look of the gadget would also prove to be tempting for some.
“With a premium brushed aluminium cover and glossy front, this new mobile phone demonstrates the sophisticated design language consumers have come to expect from Sony Ericsson,” he added.
In other news, 3 Mobile has announced it will stock the new Nokia N97 for its customers and will offer access to Skype calling on the phone – which means cheaper calls and free access to other users of the service.
The handset was originally unveiled at an industry event in Barcelona last December, where the manufacturer called the new flagship model as “a true mobile computer”.
