People looking for an inexpensive but durable phone have been advised that the Sony Ericsson T715 could be the handset for them.

A review in PC Advisor magazine stated that the device "gets the job done" but may be lacking in unique features to set it apart from the competition.

According to the publication, the "entry-level slider" looks similar to a basic 3G model and has a two-tone gloss black and silver motif, with a "comfortable" keypad and raised, well-spaced buttons.

However, the information source admitted the build quality of the phone is up for debate and the Sony Ericsson T715’s headphone jack does not meet expectations.

Commenting on the overall performance of the Sony Ericsson T715, PC Advisor said: "The Sony Ericsson T715 is straightforward and easy enough to use, with a basic three-by-four grid layout for the main menu and list format submenus. The phone doesn’t suffer from any lag or slowdown."

Despite this, there is a slight delay on the Facebook and Twitter applications that are included on the device, it explained, although the features will interest social-networking enthusiasts.

Those more interested in music were told the Sony Ericsson T715 has a solid music player and is based around a tiered multimedia menu that is comparable with the Playstation 3.

All in all, the Sony Ericsson T715 sounds like an unremarkable, yet efficient device that could be the right purchase for someone looking to invest in a cost-effective handset.

People who are interested in social media may be more inclined to purchase the recently announced Sony Ericsson Cedar, which global marketing manager for the organisation Quentin Cordier described as having the perfect balance between business and home use.
