The opinions of a number of people on one of the latest devices to emerge from one South Korean manufacturer have been published online this week.
One article in particular, posted by Niall Magennis of Trusted Reviews, looked at the target audience of the Samsung Genio and pointed to the fact that there are some things that make it stand out.
He explained that with a focus on easy access to social networking facilities like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, it is clear the company behind the touchscreen handset is looking at the younger user.
This is something the expert added is underscored by the fact that three swappable covers are also included in the box, but went on to say some things about the device are worthy of praise.
Mr Maggenis noted these include an "easy to use operating system, impressive line-up of widgets and good battery life", also drawing attention to the compact nature of the phone and the addition of "plenty of useful apps".
"If you’re on a budget, but are interested in a touchscreen handset, it’s worth checking out," he concluded.
Elsewhere, a review from FoneHome this week noted the design similarities between the Genio and the Palm Pre, before describing the model as fun to use and "a lovely little budget phone".
Cnet also put the new Samsung to the test recently, explaining that while a lack of 3G and Wi-Fi support was something that would inevitably put some people off, the gadget does boast a good interface that works well alongside its integrated media player.
