Vader Yourself – The force is strong with this app

As anyone with an iPhone knows most iPhone apps are rather cheap and pointless things. Some are downright awful and could be said to be almost fraudulent.  For instance there is an app called ‘phone tracker’ that is perhaps the most pointless app that has ever been conceived.  But some apps gladden the heart and manage to excite us, banishing our jaded cynicism for a few brief moments.  Vader yourself is one of those apps.

Just about everyone of a certain age has been in the pub and performed a usually hideous Darth Vader impression.  We’ve pressed an empty pint glass to our mouth and said the immortal words ‘no Luke, I am your father’ on several occasions.  But now with Star Wars: Vader Yourself for the iPhone you can revel in your inner sith lord.  Now we have to advise that this sort of behaviour is extremely geeky and is unlikely to endear you to so called ‘normal people’ but we really don’t care.

The app itself is fantastic.  There are various options to adjust settings for pitch, speed and tempo and you can add those trademark wheezy Vader breathing sounds to your recordings.  You can even share your Vader voice creations with your friends and family and use them outside of the app.  The ’share’ function within the app allows you to send the files via email and you can also connect the application directly to Facebook so you can share your Vader creations with your Facebook friends.

This app is great fun on a night out and if you and your circle of friends are as obsessed with Star Wars as we are you’ll have great fun.  What we really want though is an Emperor app.  Now that would be something very special.
