With speculation growing that suggests Apple is about to announce a brand new version of the iPhone, a new article has highlighted some of the things people could expect from the device.

This week sees the start of the technology manufacturers Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) where it is thought the firm will unveil details of a revised handset.

According to the Telegraph’s technology editor Claudine Beaumont, there are certain things supposedly leaked photos and comments have hinted at, including a rubberised rear fascia.

However, it is not just the look of the iPhone that is set to change, she suggests, as a range of other features could also get a makeover.

“Gadget fans will be hoping the new iPhone packs a more powerful processor that enables it to run multiple applications simultaneously, more storage, improved battery life, a better camera, and the ability to record video,” Ms Beaumont adds.

Price cuts are another item she suggests could be on the WWDC itinerary, an issue which may have been pushed after Microsoft seemingly hinted at Apple products “being under-specced and over-priced” – and may have been compounded by the ongoing effects of the credit crunch.

Other announcements that could feature include the introduction of a tablet computer or netbook and an appearance from Steve Jobs, the firm’s chief executive, has also not been ruled out.

The new Apple iPhone could also be given a bigger storage capacity, with many predicting the launch of a model that comes with a 32GB hard drive.
